Body of missing activist CAROLINE MWATHA OCHIENG found at city Mortuary –Shocking details of her death emerge

Tuesday February 12, 2019-The body of missing human rights activist, Caroline Mwatha Ochieng, has been found at City Mortuary, Nairobi.

Mwatha, who was the Director of Dandora Community Social Justice Center, went missing on Wednesday last week and police have been working around the clock to trace her.
Police sources indicate the body was taken to the morgue on February 7, a day after she went missing.
This, however, contradicts earlier reports as the family said they had visited the mortuary but did not find the body.
Mwatha’s father said they had visited all mortuaries in Kiambu and Nairobi and there was no body of Caroline.
Mwatha had been documenting cases of enforced disappearance and police extrajudicial killings, including the cold-blooded murder of six Dandora residents in October last year.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had offered Sh300,000 reward for information on the missing activist.
Sonko on Monday urged anybody with information to contact the nearest police station or the Directorate of Criminal Investigations offices.

Initially , Dandora police officers were the main suspects but it has emerged she died after procuring an abortion.
